K + P

The K/P Project is an art partnership created by Kameron Saunders and Prince Lyons inspired by the needs of unrepresented artists in the St. Louis community.

What began a collaborative passion project funded by Jaquel Knight and the Jaquel Knight Foundation sparked a $30,000 campaign to create a vividly danced conversation about racial injustices, police brutality, sexuality, gender norms, ableism, and minority experiences.

Together we tirelessly worked on premiering our ideas for Saint Louis art events and gaining our local community's attention and support-- holding auditions, reaching out to local creatives, and meeting with new and old businesses to introduce the KP Project to Saint Louis. As a result, our initiative gained backing from many sources. Our crowd-funded campaign received sponsorship from local companies, Mid-West politicians, esteemed art investors, and the St. Louis community. By June 2022, The KP Project raised over $40,000, provided over 20+ job opportunities, and showcased art in St. Louis, never before seen at the new City Foundry-our debut production, A Conversation.. A Dance on Differences.

Art for Purpose.

Featuring some of the community's strongest dancers, musicians, and visual artists, we created a boldly physical and theatrical hour of honesty, strength, education, and representation.
